The competition is held on a 42km circuit in the beautiful Goms and is a real challenge for amateur athletes as well as professionals.
The start and finish are at the Nordic Centre in Ulrichen. In addition to flat sections, the route is also peppered with longer, partly steep ascents and fast descents. The trail is wide and leads through forests, open terrain and past villages.

The International Gommerlauf as a traditional cross-country skiing event is firmly anchored in the event calendar. In addition to the two half-marathon races in classic and free style, the Biathlon Cup races are on Saturday’s competition programme. On Sunday, the International Gommer Ski Marathon and the Mini Gommerlauf Series will take place. The International Goms Ski Marathon over 42 kilometres is one of the most ambitious and attractive popular races in the Alpine region.
The races will be framed by the Gommerlauf Village and an inviting restaurant at the Nordic Centre in Ulrichen. A special experience is offered by the Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn’s travelling grandstand on Sunday, which allows you to follow the race from the train. There are also various attractive points of interest that are well worth a visit. To name just one example: The large Aletsch glacier or the Andermatt ski region, as well as various museums, swimming pools and sports halls in the region.
This year, the International Gommerlauf will take place for the 53st time.
