Jyväskylä Ski Marathon – two distances of 50 km and 34 km – each in the classic and free technique. The ski route in this race follows the famous Metso Route. The Metso Route is a nature trail that connects Jyväskylä with Laukaa. It is used by hikers, trail runners and mountain bikers in summer and offers spectacular cross-country skiing in winter. The trail is hilly and offers a backdrop of varied forest landscapes.

The 50 km route is ridden from Vaajakoski to Peurunka. The first half of this route is rather challenging and hilly, while the second half is much flatter. The 34 km route goes from Vaajakoski to Peurunka. The 34 km route is suitable for active skiers and hobbyists.

Start and finish are at different locations!
50 km C + F start in Vaajakoski, about 7 km from the centre of Jyväskylä.
34 km C + Fwill start in Vaajakoski, about 5 km – 7 km from the centre of Jyväskylä.
The finish for all runners is in Laukaa-Peurunka, directly at the Spa Hotel Peurunga.

Conquer the Metso Route in the heart of Finland!

The Jyväskylä Ski Marathon takes place near the city of Jyväskylä. On a great course through the forests and over the lakes around Jyväskylä to Laukaan-Peurunka, with the finish at Lake Peurunkaan, you will experience a special kind of cross-country skiing event.

After the race, you can enjoy the facilities at Spa Hotel Peurunka. Lunch soup and showers are included in the entry fee, but skiers can also purchase access to the pool and whirlpool area.
The race is organised by Ski Jyväskylä, the largest cross-country ski club in Central Finland. We have many years of experience in organizing ski events and want to offer you an unforgettable race!
