“Do you love challenges?” That is not the slogan for the participants of the Skadi Loppet in Bodenmais / Germany. The Skadi Loppet trails are laid out at an altitude of 1040m to 1300m and with a difference in altitude of more than 1000m, the Skadi Loppet routes are among the most demanding in the ski marathon scene worldwide. Wide trails through beautiful high forests, with recurring viewpoints. In parts, the route runs directly along the mountain ridge of the Bavarian Forest. These special sections of the route characterize the Skadi Loppet. A lively alternation of climbs and descents guarantees you a varied race and a challenge for you as a “real” cross-country skier.

The SUBARU Skadi Loppet and the Sparkassen Jet, with its unique guarantee of snow, is a dream with a special challenge for every cross-country skier, now in January.

Event info for the Skadi Loppet

A new era begins for the Skadi Loppet in January 2025.

For over 30 years, the Skadi Loppet has been the winter finale for Cross-Country skiers in Central Europe. Now the date of the Skadi Loppet has been changed to the fourth weekend of January.

Bodenmais with its Skadi Loppet routes is 99.99% snow-sure in January. This means you will experience the Skadi Loppet in a completely new way, with great snow conditions.

The special flair of the event, the atmosphere among the participants and the good organization characterize the Skadi Loppet a Cross-Country skiing festival for over 30 years. The Bodenmais tourism center at an altitude of 700 m, about 5 km from the start and finish in the Skadi Loppet stadium, hosts the ski marathon runners from all over the world. The network of trails with over 100 km of prepare trails, at an altitude of 1140 m to 1300 m, is one of the most snow-sure and beautiful Cross-Country skiing areas in Central Europe.

Another novelty for the Skadi Loppet is that the German Ski Association holds the German Ski Marathon Championships at the Skadi Loppet in Bodenmais every year. These championships are held alternately in free and classic techniques at the two largest German ski marathon events, the König Ludwig Lauf in Oberammergau and the Skadi Loppet.
